Wet, Windy And Cold.

Rain Silhouette The title of this blog post pretty well sums up the spring weather we are having this year.

Constant rain showers has been the weather pattern for spring 2021

Normally this time of year I’d expect to start seeing dragonflies emerging. I’ve seen a few Large Red Damsellies, which are always the first to emerge, but so far I’ve only seen a single Hairy dragonfly.

The cold wet weather has also delayed the appearance of some local butterflies like the Green Hairstreak and Grizzled Skipper.

It must be on the cold side for reptiles who use the warmth of the sun to regulate their body temperature.

There are bonuses to the rain. You can get some nice photographs with raindrops.
